My Time

Mission Statement

“Our goal is to enable the individual and family to establish safe therapeutic alliances that break down their internal and external barriers by bridging the gap between personal, workplace and community needs in response to the challenges of a changing world”.

Background/History

My Time CIC is an inter-cultural Midlands-based community counselling and psychological practice established in 2002, in Birmingham, which provides community-family-inspired therapeutic services within core values of social justice, human being centred, helping people to develop confidence to take control of their lives, delivering innovative and imaginative accessible quality provision, and building social inclusive and integrative communities.

My Time has a philosophy based on fundamental human rights of the individual to safety, acceptance, peaceful existence, productive activity and work, and be able to contribute to a socially inclusive and intercultural society.

My Time CIC is a client-centred and client-led service based in Small Heath but operates throughout Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Sandwell and Solihull providing a range of culturally and faith sensitive therapeutic service within the mental health and social care sector.

Services Provided

Housing Related Floating Support which focuses on enabling people to live life as independent as possible in their accommodation.

Other Services Provided

My Time CIC provides holistic primary and secondary mental health services that are low intensity and high intensity.
General counselling for clients experiencing situational depression, anxiety and low self-esteem that only need short-term mindful CBT intervention. A specific service for carers enables clients that are caring for loved ones with long-term needs are able to cope more effectively. My Time CIC can work in 18 community languages.

Case based long-term interventions for clients experiencing situational depression, anxiety, trauma, and very low self-esteem that overwhelms there day to day functioning to such a degree that they are unable to sustain family or work life. My Time provides specific services for families with multiple risks/issues including mental illness, domestic violence, and where English is not the mother tongue and BME men particularly from the Muslim community.

The services are underpinned by specific expertise in working with BME communities, working in mother-tongue languages, asylum seekers and refugees, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Bi-Polar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, adult survivors of child abuse, perpetuators of domestic violence, parenting, fatherhood, and non-talking therapies such as horticulture/garden therapy. Group Therapy and Self-Esteem Programmes that compliment one-to-one sessions that enable clients from short-term and long-term interventions to gain social skills, improve functioning, and access other support including peer support.

Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible for the MY Time Floating Support Service if you are a vulnerable adult due to mental health problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Bi-Polar Disorder
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Anxiety Disorders
